Here we have a unit of 15mm Essex figures painted to represent a colonial unit from Spain. I used a combination of black and white. White represents Carthage while black is a favourite of Spain at that time. I carried on the Spanish influence by adding a set of bull horns and fur made with putty to the totem, replacing the existing one. Finally I painted the officers shield with a bulls head symbol. The bull was sacred to the early Spanish and is the ancient link to the bull fights in Spain today.
